Other Activities

To encourage the all-round development of the child, there are several cultural activities conducted by the School under the auspices of the Literary and Debating Clubs. The students are encouraged to participate in the inter house debates, weekly debates, dramatics and quiz competitions. Students in the primary section have competitions held on inter class basis. The School has been performing well in debate and quiz at the inter school level. Music, singing and dance lessons too are provided.

DISCIPLINE

In a school that houses approximately 450 boarders and 850 day pupils, discipline is very important and is ensured through several means. For minor breaches of discipline, the corrective measures taken are detention, extra study, withdrawal of privileges, stoppage of pocket money for boarders and loss of leave, according to the acts of indiscipline committed.

The Conduct Certificate which is issued to a boy when leaving school, will depend entirely on his behaviour during his stay in school, i.e. whether he has adhered to the rules of the school and boarding or not. The Principal’s decision is final.

CATHOLICS

Catholic students are bound to attend all the public religious exercises stipulated by the management and they are to frequent the Sacraments according to the advice of the Spiritual Director and the laws of the Church.

MEDIUM

As English is the medium of instruction, students are expected to speak English at all times, even during recreation. Whilst at school, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam or French should be used only during the periods allotted. It is presumed that those whose 2nd language is Tamil, Malayalam or Hindi will have sufficient practice in speaking the language at home.

CAREER GUIDANCE

Boys can avail of an on-line personalized career guidance service on an optional basis. This on-line facility has been obtained from specialized personnel who have a tie-up with internationally reputed organizations.
